2009 Ontario Annual Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Report

The 2009 Ontario Annual Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Report contains statistics, trends and analysis of infectious disease activity in the province. Disease-specific chapters provide incidence rates by age and sex, geographic distribution, seasonal distribution, exposure settings, risk factors, aetiology and comparisons between Ontario and Canada as a whole.

The report provides a descriptive analysis of past and current trends of infectious diseases in Ontario. This helps the public health sector anticipate and prepare for emerging trends. The epidemiological analyses will be a key resource for setting the priorities of health practitioners involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of public health policy and practice in the province.
