In July 2007, the Ontario government appointed Rob Devitt, CEO of Toronto East General Hospital, as supervisor for The Scarborough Hospital. Mr. Devitt was to report on the management and governance of The Scarborough Hospital. He was also asked to recommend and oversee the implementation of required changes to the governance of The Scarborough Hospital, including the functioning, composition and membership of the board, and to recommend and oversee solutions for administrative, management, operations and medical issues.

Rob Devitt's report was released by Minister of Health and Long-Term Care David Caplan on October 10^th , 2008
