The ministry is committed to ensuring that Ontarians have access to an advanced cardiac system that is safe and effective.

In January 2005, the Hon. W. Keon submitted to the ministry the final report from the Primary Prevention Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)/Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) Task Force.

This report, together with the OHTAC recommendations on primary prevention ICDs and other relevant information will be used to develop ministry policy on expanded ICD therapy in Ontario.
