Regulation of Health Professions in Ontario :
New Directions – Use of Titles in the Profession of Psychology

November 2006

The Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC) indicated in its April 2006 report : Regulation of Health Professionals in Ontario: New Directions its intention to conduct a further review and consultations on the use of titles in the profession of psychology, with a view to presenting recommendations to the Minister by October 2006.

After having considered the perspectives of those with an interest in the matter, the public interest and requirements in other jurisdictions, HPRAC recommended that the Minister take no initiative at this time to amend the legislation or regulations respecting the use of titles in the profession of psychology.
