Holiday

The General Preamble of the Schedule of Benefits for Physician Services states that, "holiday" includes Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. The preamble states that if any holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, either the Friday before or the Monday following will be recognized as the holiday. For 2004, the following will be recognized as holidays for claims submission:

Friday December 24th for Christmas Day;
Monday December 27th for Boxing Day.

For New Years Day, a physician may choose to consider either Friday, December 31st, 2004 or Monday January 3, 2005 as the holiday. Both days cannot be claimed as holidays for payment purposes.
