1.1    Increase to Schedule of Benefits Fees of 2%

Effective April 1, 2001, under the current agreement between the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association, the Schedule of Benefits will be revised to provide a 2.0% increase to all fees except uninsured services that are listed in Appendix F and technical, hospital and facility fees for diagnostic services. As per the agreement, the Committee on Technical Fees will make recommendations regarding technical, hospital and facility fees.

The 2.0% increase will be applied automatically to all claim submissions for services provided on or after April 1, 2001.

 1.2    Increase to Threshold Levels

Effective April 1, 2001, for fiscal year 2001/2002, the threshold levels at which reductions are calculated will increase by $10,000. For General/Family Practitioners, the starting level will increase from $330,000 to $340,000 and for specialists from $410,000 to $420,000. The threshold reductions only take effect as these higher OHIP earnings amounts are reached. After-hours non-elective hospital services continue to be exempt from threshold reductions.
